Better to put your hope in the unchanging Word than in the ever changing circumstances of this world. God’s Word will accomplish what it says. The one who wrote Ps.119 knew this. Take some time to study this the longest chapter in the Bible. List the different words used for Word (law, promise…).

When sleep doesn’t come for busy thoughts, rise and give thanks. Turn your mind to the many blessings of God and thank Him for each one. Count your blessings. It’s better for sleep than counting sheep. And more meaningful too. Happy Thanksgiving Day!

In this day of Google search and multiple translations, we still need to memorize Scripture. It’s the best way to “hide” God’s Word in your heart. Memorizing and meditating on the Word overwrites the old hard drive with a new operating system.

The more you read Psalms, the more you recognize the words Jesus spoke. It’s as if God gave us the Messiah’s script centuries before. It’s one thing to say what the Messiah was to say, but it’s another thing to do what He was supposed to do. Jesus says and does all. He is the Capstone.

When you receive praise for a victory remember to give glory to the One who gave you success. Don’t desire fame for yourself. It leads to pride and that to a fall. The same people that praise you will celebrate your demise. Live a life that makes the Lord famous.

An awareness of the Almighty as Creator and King is in view here. Recognizing Him as God we are awestruck. Our knowledge begins with Him as Creator. Our decisions are guided by the understanding that He is Judge over all. Our passion is shaped by a desire to please and not disappoint Him.

It wasn’t external enemies that kept them out of the Promised Land. It was their internal grumbling. They complained against the food and against their leaders, but really they complained against God. So He allowed the grumblers to die in the wilderness, while raising up a new generation that believed.

Water is life. When we go through desert times in our lives, Jesus is our Rock. There are seasons of dryness that test us. They teach us to go to the Rock. Even when all looks to be desert, go to Jesus and drink. Why do you thirst? Is it not to remind you that you need Him above all else?

Don’t go to worship, bring your worship with you. Too many of us arrive at services dry and grumbling, then we rate the worship of others, hoping their worship will ignite ours. Instead, “Come” worshiping!
