What if we began to pray “dangerous prayers?” Prayers that cry out to God for an answer? Prayers that are God-sized and God-willed? Prayers that stretch us outside of our comfort zone? If we were to begin praying “dangerous prayers” together as a church, who knows what would happen!
In Psalm 25, King David prayed that God would show him how to get God’s perspective on life. We can pray that God will show us His perspective on life.

If pain is unavoidable in this life and there are so many struggles that cause us pain, what can we do? Just as pain moves us to call the doctor, it can moves us to call on the Lord. That’s what the psalmist David did. Listen to how he called on the Lord concerning his hurts:
Psalm 25:18 (ESV) Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
In Psalm 25, David lifted up his hurting soul to the Lord for help. We can lift up our hurting souls to the Lord for help.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
David wore his heart on his sleeve in this psalm. He prayed to the Lord with passion and very personal connection. David’s prayer life was one of intimacy with God. His psalms are helpful to those of us who desire a similar prayer life. Today, I pray along with David, “Lord, my Savior, lead and teach me today. I will put my hope in You all day (not just part of the day) long.!”

Today’s constant prayer: Show me, teach me, lead me… I’m waiting. Not passively, but actively. Not without moving, but as I move today, being fully present looking for You, O Lord.
