Who is the one who would reflect all the glory to God and keep none for themselves? Such a one God will lift up and use. There’s no telling what God will accomplish through one who refuses to take the credit, giving all glory to God.

Hebrew – checed (kheh’-sed) love, lovingkindness, covenantal love. David prays for God’s salvation, not according to his own merit, but according to God’s checed love. God answers the prayer of one who prays this. Jesus, Son of David, Son of God, is the answer to David’s prayer.

“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!” (Psalm 104:33)

I praise God not because I wish to bargain with Him. I praise Him because He is God and worthy of my worship. Even when suffering and death cross my path, my heart is determined to praise Him. For He is God and there is no other. Today, I praise Him for letting me see my grandson Conner, if only for a moment. He was always Yours. Now we return him to You. Blessed be Your Name our LORD.

“Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord” (Psalm 102:18)

I’m glad Moses and the prophets wrote. I’m especially thankful that the apostles wrote. The Bible is the single most powerful reason for worldwide literacy. But much more than that, it is the wisdom of God and contains the Gospel by which we are saved. Are you passing the Book on to your children and grandchildren?

“Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves” (Psalm 96:2)

Worship is not for us. It’s for the Lord. Yet, to those who answer the call to worship, God Himself inhabits their praise.

Do you depend on your own strength? No matter how many vitamins or supplements you take, your health will wane. But God’s strength is available to you forever. Draw on Him. Depend on Him. God never fails.

“Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign Lord rescues us from death” (Psalm 68:20)

Where is death threatening today? In your marriage or other close relationship? Perhaps in your body as you’re getting older or the doctor has given a scary diagnosis? There are little “deaths” that we die along the road to dying. But our God saves. This salvation will overcome all death.
