Better to put your hope in the unchanging Word than in the ever changing circumstances of this world. God’s Word will accomplish what it says. The one who wrote Ps.119 knew this. Take some time to study this the longest chapter in the Bible. List the different words used for Word (law, promise…).

When sleep doesn’t come for busy thoughts, rise and give thanks. Turn your mind to the many blessings of God and thank Him for each one. Count your blessings. It’s better for sleep than counting sheep. And more meaningful too. Happy Thanksgiving Day!

In this day of Google search and multiple translations, we still need to memorize Scripture. It’s the best way to “hide” God’s Word in your heart. Memorizing and meditating on the Word overwrites the old hard drive with a new operating system.

God’s Word gives light to keep our feet from stumbling. And it shines forth to point us on the right path to follow. As a light is useless without being turned on, so the Word cannot do its work in us unless we read and meditate on it. Have your “turned on” the Word today?

With the increase of smart phones, laptops, and online Bibles, Scripture memorization is becoming a lost art. Yet, our increased access to the Word doesn’t equal the benefit of having it dwell in our minds and shape our thinking. Are you “hiding” God’s Word in your heart?
