Jesus’ answer for why a man was born blind. God can use our suffering to reveal His power to the world. But how we respond to suffering matters. We can decide to become bitter or better. Don’t waste the pain! Say “God, be glorified in my life!” Then, watch God move.

Jesus is the criterion by which the Bible is interpreted. He is the Living Word, the Logos, who was, and is, and is to come. Apart from faith in Jesus, the Scripture cannot be rightly understood. Hearing His voice, he opens the Scripture to us and our hearts burn with understanding (Luke 24:32).

Rather than asking God to join us today, Let’s ask Him to show us what He’s doing and join Him there.

As the bronze snake was a symbol of suffering, so Jesus foretold His intent to take on Himself the source of suffering for the world, which is man’s sin, by being lifted up on the cross.

John 4
|
evangelism
Pastor Gary Combs concludes his sermon series, WITNESS, with this message entitled “Proclaim God’s Story.” In the book of John, Jesus took the time to talk to a Samaritan woman drawing water at Jacob’s well outside the city of Sychar. After he told her that he was the long awaited Messiah she immediately went back to her hometown to tell everyone her story. We can tell people in our hometown the story of how Jesus revealed himself to us.

evangelism
Pastor Gary Combs continues the WITNESS series with this message about the necessity of depending on God’s power to witness. This message is taken from the gospel of John where Jesus told the Pharisees that he was merely joining the Father where his power was already at work. We can learn to be empowered to join the Father’s work in our witness.

John 3

christmas
Pastor Gary Combs concludes the NOEL series with this message on Christmas Day. Taken from the book of John, this message describes how Jesus told a prominent Jewish teacher named Nicodemus that God “so loved” everyone that He was offering His greatest gift to all those who would receive it. It is as though God took the approach of wrapping the gift of LIFE and then placed it inside the gift of His Son, the LORD, and then placed it inside the gift of His LOVE. A gift within a gift, within a gift. The greatest gift of all! We can receive this gift from the God who loves all. Having received it, we can be like Him by loving all too.
