Jesus commended Thomas for seeing and believing. He blesses us today even more for believing without seeing. Do you know this blessing of believing in Jesus?

“Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true” (John 18:37)

How Jesus answered Pilate’s questioning. Pilate’s response: “What is truth?” We live in a relativistic age that questions the idea of absolute truth too. But those who “love truth” will see the truth revealed in Jesus.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message” (John 17:20)

The night before Jesus was crucified, He prayed not only for the Twelve, but also for all of us who would believe the gospel message.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5)

Christians are not called to imitate Christ. They are called to abide in Him, so that His life is manifest in theirs. Our effort is not to do Christlike things, but to tenaciously cling to the Vine, so that His life flows through us to produce spiritual fruit.

“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark” (John 12:46)

The relationship between the Shepherd and His sheep described. The corollary is also true: Jesus doesn’t “know” those who don’t listen or follow. This is about relationship not religion. Does Jesus “know” you? Do you listen to His voice and follow Him?

“Jesus answered. ‘This happened so the power of God could be seen in him'” (John 9:3)

Jesus’ answer for why a man was born blind. God can use our suffering to reveal His power to the world. But how we respond to suffering matters. We can decide to become bitter or better. Don’t waste the pain! Say “God, be glorified in my life!” Then, watch God move.

“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” (John 5:39)

Jesus is the criterion by which the Bible is interpreted. He is the Living Word, the Logos, who was, and is, and is to come. Apart from faith in Jesus, the Scripture cannot be rightly understood. Hearing His voice, he opens the Scripture to us and our hearts burn with understanding (Luke 24:32).

“For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing” (John 5:20)
