Pastor Jonathan Minter delivered a message entitled “Walk This Way.” The message was taken from 1 John 2:6 which says that “whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” This message looks at three categories of things that Jesus did most and challenges us to do likewise in Jesus power. Pastor Gary Combs continues the 7-sermon expositional series through the book of 1 John entitled “Authentic Christianity.” In the first epistle of John he told believers that they could be sure of their relationship with God and offered four tests that reveal authentic Christianity and expose those who are counterfeits. We can have this assurance in our relationship with Christ.

Pastor Gary Combs continues the “War of the Worldviews” series with this 4th message about right and wrong, good and evil, and about that three-letter word, sin. This message takes its text from 1 John where he told the first century Christians that they must not be deceived by the humanistic thinking of their age that would keep them from confessing and repenting of their sin. That they could admit that they were in darkness and that they were sinners in need of a Savior and that Jesus would cleanse them and make them right with God. We can confront the “new tolerance” of our age that deceives us. We can admit that we are sinners and be forgiven and made right with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acceptance. Whether you’re a teenager in Jr. High or moving into a new neighborhood, you want acceptance.
Do you ever feel distant from God? Does the shame and guilt of sin ever make you feel this distance? As if God doesn’t accept you any longer? What do we do as Christians when we sin?
In the apostle John’s first letter, he told his hearers that they could know and experience God’s love and acceptance as those who were in the “fellowship” of the Father and Son and with one another. We can know and experience the love and acceptance of God in our lives. The text gives three ways.
