“Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just” (Ezekiel 33:17)

From: November 16, 2013

When a people lose their fear of the Lord and begin to lift their own judgments above His, that nation will not long survive. When the prophet Ezekiel preached, warning the people of Israel, they responded by accusing God of injustice rather than repenting themselves. Today, we often hear a biblically illiterate people accusing God of injustice, either as a way of questioning His existence or in response to the warnings of His preachers. Watch out, lest history repeat itself.

“Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery” (Hebrews 13:4)

From: November 16, 2012

A reminder that marriage is not merely a social construct, but a divine ordinance instituted by God. As a people, we are to “give honor” to the institution of marriage. As individuals, we are to “remain faithful” to our spouses in marriage. Marriage was God’s idea, not man’s. It is a gift from God. Like any gift He gives, we can dishonor it and experience hurt. Or we can honor it and know divine blessing.

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory” (Psalm 115:1)

From: November 16, 2011
