DOES GOD WITHHOLD GOOD FROM US?

From: July 24, 2023

“Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (Romans 8:32 NLT).

God already gave us His best when He gave us His only begotten Son. Therefore, let us not accuse Him of withholding any good thing from us. If we do not have it, it is either because He has something better for us, or because He is training us in righteousness.

Our God has given everything to Christ. We that are in Christ are already co-inheritors of “all things.” So be patient. He’s coming again. And when He does, we’ll discover than no good thing was lost or withheld, but everything good is given to us in Christ Jesus!

PRAYER: Father, thank You that You have given us all things through Christ. We therefore give You all that we are today. We put away all striving and worry, knowing that You love us and will not withhold any good thing from us. For we are Your children. Help us to walk in Your Spirit today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28 NLT).

TRUSTING GOD’S GOOD PURPOSE FOR US

Are you facing a time of difficulty and wondering where God is today? Have you gone through a time of suffering and questioning how God can possibly allow it, much less, use it? Or maybe you’re filled with shame because of your past sins and poor choices and you don’t see how God can possibly turn your life around?

Yet, God is at work. God is sovereign. He is making us like Jesus. That is His purpose for those who love Him and are called by Him. We can face any trial or trouble knowing that God will cause it ultimately to come together for His purpose, which is that we should “become like his Son” (Rom. 8:29). And instead of hiding our past in shame, we can surrender it to Him, trusting that He will even use our worse days for His glory.

So, don’t waste the pain. Don’t turn away, but lean into Jesus all the more. Trust God’s good purpose for your life.

PRAYER: Dear Father, nothing can touch us without first passing through Your fingers. For Your hands protect and provide for us. You are the Potter and we are they clay. Mold us and make us after Thy will. For You are making us like Jesus. And we trust Your good will for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“He did not even spare His own Son, but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything?” (Romans 8:32 HCSB).

God already gave us His best. Therefore, let us not accuse Him of withholding any good thing from us. If we do not have it, it is because He has something better for us. “But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken Him” (2 Chronicles 13:10 NKJV).

From: July 24, 2017

King Abijah of Judah, the great grandson of David, urged Jeroboam and his Northern tribes not to fight against them because they would be fighting against the Lord Himself. But Israel’s armies outnumbered Judah’s 2-to-1, so Jeroboam was over-confident and surrounded Judah to attack. Yet, God fought for Judah and Israel was soundly defeated. Abijah tried to reason with Jeroboam to avoid bloodshed, but he depended on the Lord to defend him and his army when conflict came.

Sometimes conflict is inevitable in this fallen world. On whom do you depend in such times?

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” (Romans 8:35 ESV)

From: July 24, 2016

There is nothing that can separate those who have believed from the love of Christ. There is no charge nor condemnation that can come against God’s elect. There is no one nor any circumstance that can separate them from God’s love. The One whose love spanned sin’s chasm between humanity and a holy God, has overcome every hindrance of separation through His death and resurrection. Receiving this love, He makes us overcomers too.

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words” (Romans 8:26)

From: July 24, 2012

There are days when we don’t know what to pray. Perhaps we feel overwhelmed or spiritually dry. Some days we are really wanting God’s best, but we lack the clarity to know how to pray for it. Whatever our state, as believers we have the Spirit as our Counselor and Friend. He knows what to pray. Say, “Spirit of God, please pray for me.” Then, listen to hear what He says.

“We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express” (Romans 8:26)

From: July 24, 2011

The Holy Spirit abides in believers, so that He knows us better than we know ourselves. And He knows God’s perfect will for us too. Even when we don’t know how to pray, He intercedes for us.
