“You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do” (Psalm 139:3 NLT).

ARE YOU GLAD FOR GOD’S ATTENTION?

The psalmist David wrote of his wonder at God’s constant awareness and attention towards him. He considered it wonderful that God would be so attentive to him.

Yet, not everyone wants God to see everywhere they go and know everything they do. They desire a secret life hidden from God. This desire began with Adam and Eve after they sinned. For they hid themselves in the garden not wanting God to see their sinful nakedness. But God called out to them saying, “Where are you?” (Gen. 3:9). And God still calls out to those who are trying to hide from Him today.

Like David, I’m glad that God sees us when we travel. I just traveled on a mission trip to Uganda and I was thankful for God’s constant presence all along the way. He went before us, traveled with us, and even followed behind us to protect our way. He was our constant Companion.

Are you glad for God’s attention? Or are you in hiding today?

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You that You are always with us. No matter the place or the time, we rest in Your constant presence and care. Even in a foreign land, You are already there working and waiting, even as You travel with us. How wonderful You are! We love and adore You and desire even closer fellowship with You that we may know You and be known by You even more fully. In Jesus’ name, amen.
