“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation” (Psalms 85:6-7 NKJV).

A PRAYER FOR REVIVAL IN OUR LAND

The psalmist prayed for the nation of Israel, asking the Lord for revival, mercy and salvation. He reminded the Lord that they were His people and that in order for them to praise Him, they would need revival.

O that the Church in our land would pray this way today! May we pray for revival, that our spiritual life in Christ would be set afire, causing our cups to run over with praise. May the Lord show us mercy, that this virus would not linger too long. May the Lord grant us rescue from the aftermath of this pandemic and of the deeper spiritual deadness in on our land.

PRAYER: Dear Father, we are Your people, yet we ask for revival, mercy and rescue. For we have been lukewarm in our commitment to You. We have put many things before You and failed to gather together to rejoice in You, but now, these many things have been temporarily removed. And we long for You and for Your people gathered. May this season of separation cause a lifetime of longing for true worship in You! Rather than rushing back to the busyness of worldly endeavors, may we reset our priorities by rushing back to worship You and slowly adding back other things. Lord, bring revival to our land. In Jesus’ name, amen.
