‘Jesus replied, “You have said it. And in the future you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”’ (Matthew 26:64 NLT).

JESUS, SON OF MAN, SON OF GOD

Jesus remained silent before His accusers. But when Caiaphas, the high priest, demanded that Jesus answer whether He was the Messiah, the Son of God, He replied, “You have said it.” In other words, Jesus answered in the positive. And Jesus said even more, quoting the prophet Daniel, He made clear that He was the Messiah and that their roles would be reversed on the Day of Judgment (See Dan. 7:13).

Yet on this day, Jesus submitted to their kangaroo court and went willingly to the cross to die for our redemption.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for sending Your Son to die for our redemption. Such love is beyond our understanding. Such meekness in the face of such injustice is difficult to comprehend. Yet, Jesus took it upon Himself that we might believe in Him and receive eternal life and reconciliation. We praise You and surrender our wills to You afresh this day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
