“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV).

EVER WONDER WHAT GOD IS UP TO WITH YOU?

We cannot earn salvation, but having received it by God’s grace through faith, we become God’s “workmanship” (Greek: “poiema”). We become God’s poem, His masterpiece. We are a new creation, therefore we begin to display the new nature in our daily walk, doing good works. Yet even here, this is not earning, but a working out that which God is working in us (Phil. 2:12-13).

The model for this masterpiece is Jesus. If you ever wonder what God is up to with us, then look at Jesus. For God is at work in us, conforming us to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:29). As the apostle John wrote, “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2).

PRAYER: Dear Father, we want to work out what You’re working in us today. Strengthen us to walk by faith in the Spirit, bearing spiritual fruit. We trust Your work in us, knowing that You are making us like Jesus. In His name we pray, amen.
