Listen to him.\u201d&#8217; (Luke 9:35 NLT)."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LEARNING TO LISTEN FOR THE LORD&#8217;S VOICE<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"c65o-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"c65o-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"c65o-0-0\">When Peter witnessed the Transfiguration of Jesus and saw his glory and the two men, Moses and Elijah, standing with him, Peter blurted out his idea for a building project on the mountain. But the Father spoke to Peter from the cloud and silenced him with the instruction, &#8220;Listen to him.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"8v14j-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"8v14j-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8v14j-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"ffuav-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"ffuav-0-0\">\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"ffuav-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"ffuav-0-0\">How many holy moments have been interrupted by our tendency to talk when we ought to be listening? And how often have we sought after an encore of a loud &#8220;mountain top&#8221; experience when God wanted to speak to us with a &#8220;still, small voice&#8221; like he did with Elijah (1 Kings 19:12)? Prayer and Bible reading are meant to be a two-way conversation with the Lord. But for this to be so, we must learn to listen for the Lord&#8217;s voice.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"fk82v-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"fk82v-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fk82v-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"1sch0-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1sch0-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1sch0-0-0\">Are you listening?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"drbti-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"drbti-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"drbti-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"96fpq\" data-offset-key=\"j18h-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"j18h-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"j18h-0-0\">PRAYER: Lord, how often we are like Peter and fill the air with our words when we ought to be listening for your voice. Please forgive us. We are so easily distracted. Our world is so loud and filled with competing voices. Yet, we want to hear you speak. Teach us to listen for your voice. O how we desire to hear from you. Speak to us from your Word. Speak to our hearts today, we pray.
