All four gospels focus their attention on Christ&#8217;s ministry that began with His baptism at thirty and concluded with the cross, the tomb and the ascension three years later. So, why was it significant for Jesus to begin His public ministry at age thirty? <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"d3r0m-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"d3r0m-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"d3r0m-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"2ebhv-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"2ebhv-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ebhv-0-0\">Perhaps these examples from Scripture will shed light on this question:<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"dppt2-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"dppt2-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dppt2-0-0\">1) Joseph was thirty when he began serving as Pharoah&#8217;s second-in-command over Egypt (Gen. 41:46).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"277rd-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"277rd-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"277rd-0-0\">2) Levite priests began their public ministry at age thirty (Ex. 4:3).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"3luk2-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"3luk2-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3luk2-0-0\">3) David became king at age thirty (2 Sam. 5:4).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"83ese-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"83ese-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"83ese-0-0\">4) Ezekiel the prophet saw his first vision at thirty (Ez. 1:1).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"8lpdl-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"8lpdl-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8lpdl-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"6t4u8\" data-offset-key=\"fs0vn-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"fs0vn-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fs0vn-0-0\">While the Bible doesn&#8217;t answer our question directly, perhaps we might infer by example and type that thirty is the biblical age for one to be publicly acknowledged as a prophet, priest or king.
