It was not &#8220;what&#8221; he did, but &#8220;Who&#8221; he believed. For it was by believing the Lord that he was &#8220;counted as righteous.&#8221; The apostle Paul wrote of this saying, &#8220;The words &#8216;it was credited to him&#8217; were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness\u2014for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead&#8221; (Rom. 4:23-24).
