The Babylonians would bring judgment upon this nation, breaking its military strength and scattering its people. Yet God&#8217;s final word concerning Elam was not destruction but restoration. He promised that in the latter days He would restore their fortunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the Magi who came seeking the One born King of the Jews were from Elam. They may have inherited an understanding of biblical prophecy through Daniel&#8217;s influence among the wise men of Babylon and Persia (Dan. 8:2). We know that Elamites were present at Pentecost, hearing the wonderful works of God proclaimed in their own language (Acts 2:9\u201311). Could these events foreshadow a greater spiritual restoration?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My freshman year in college, my roommate was from Iran, the ancient land of Persia. Because of him, I have had a special affection for the Iranian people ever since. I have long desired for them to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, as our countries find themselves at odds with one another, I am reminded that God&#8217;s love transcends national boundaries and political conflicts. The people of Iran are not our enemies in the eyes of God, but souls precious to Him. Jeremiah&#8217;s prophecy reminds me that God&#8217;s purposes for a people can extend far beyond seasons of judgment and suffering. His heart is always toward redemption. His desire is for believers from every nation to trust in His Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PRAYER:<\/strong>&nbsp;Heavenly Father, thank You that Your purposes are greater than the conflicts of nations. I pray for the people of Iran, that the light of the gospel would shine brightly throughout their land. Open hearts to hear and believe in Jesus Christ. Strengthen the believers there and use them as witnesses of Your saving grace. May You restore many to Yourself through faith in Your Son.
