\u201cI will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom. It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations.” (Ezekiel 29:14\u201315 ESV).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

God declared through Ezekiel that He would restore Egypt, but not to its former imperial greatness. Instead, it would become a \u201clowly kingdom,\u201d never again rising above the nations. Ezekiel spoke this word during a time when Egypt was still viewed as a powerful option for political alliances. Israel often looked to Egypt for help instead of trusting the LORD. Yet God revealed that Egypt\u2019s greatness was coming to an end. History bears this out: after Babylon\u2019s invasion, Egypt was restored but never again became a dominant empire. Over the next 2,500 years, it passed under the control of Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans, and the British\u2014consistently remaining a nation of significance, but never of supremacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not random trivia, it\u2019s revelation confirmed. God\u2019s Word did not return void. What He spoke, He accomplished. His judgment came, His restoration came, and the limits He established for Egypt have remained. A fulfilled prophecy like this stands as an anchor for our faith: if He kept this word, He will keep all His words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Believer, this matters for us today. The same God who fulfilled His word concerning Egypt will also fulfill every promise He has made to His people. He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. He has promised to forgive those who trust in Christ. He has promised to build His church. And most of all, He has promised that Jesus will return in glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as surely as Egypt became a lowly kingdom, so surely will Christ appear. When God speaks, history bows to His command. Therefore, we can live with confidence and hope, knowing that not one of His promises will fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Lord spoke through the prophet Isaiah, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please” (Isa. 55:11).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER: Dear Father, we thank You that Your Word stands forever. Strengthen our faith to trust every promise You have spoken. Keep us watchful for the return of Christ and faithful until the Day we see Him face to face. In Jesus\u2019 name, amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
