How do you hide God’s Word in your heart? First believe it and receive it. Read, study and commit it to memory, so that it re-writes your thinking. When Jesus was tempted to sin (Matt. 4), He responded with Scripture. Memorize and repeat the Word to face today’s challenges.

Better to put your hope in the unchanging Word than in the ever changing circumstances of this world. God’s Word will accomplish what it says. The one who wrote Ps.119 knew this. Take some time to study this the longest chapter in the Bible. List the different words used for Word (law, promise…).

When sleep doesn’t come for busy thoughts, rise and give thanks. Turn your mind to the many blessings of God and thank Him for each one. Count your blessings. It’s better for sleep than counting sheep. And more meaningful too. Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Pastor Gary Combs continues the “Parenting Your Child’s Heart” series. This message discusses the importance of communication that fosters true understanding, taken from the book of Psalms. The Psalmist cries out to God for heart to heart understanding. He wanted to know and be known by God. He wanted his behavior and his heart attitude to be in line with the Father’s heart. Our children need the same thing. We can answer their heart’s cry for understanding and for a purpose to live by that will give order to their behavior and inspiration for their hearts.
